Please answer the following questions based on the article “Certain Cognitive Behavior Therapy Appears Beneficial for Female Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder” (the article follows the questions).

1.      Create a 95% confidence interval for the difference between the two treatment groups (prolonged exposure and present-centered therapy) in the proportion of women who no longer meet the criteria for diagnosis of PTSD.  Fully interpret the interval.  Does the confidence interval show evidence of a difference between the two treatments?

Let prolonged exposure be sample 1 and present-centered therapy be sample 2

2.      Create a 95% confidence interval for the difference between the two treatment groups in the proportion of women who achieved total remission.  Fully interpret the interval.

3.      According to this evidence, which treatment is more effective?

4.      Based on the evidence, would you recommend that one of these treatments be adopted as the standard treatment for all female veterans suffering from PTSD?
