MGMT 4304– Training and Development
By completing this project, you should have a much better understanding of the role that training and development plays in the workplace. You should be able to identify the types of training and development needed in a workplace as well as the benefit of providing them. You should also be able to measure the benefits using standard business metrics.
The project involves finding all of the types of training and development needed for the type of department that you have selected during class. You must research the types of training and development programs found in the industry, identify their costs, and its intended function and possible outcomes. You should also note their successes and if possible, companies that employed the training and development.
You must explain how the organization will benefit by integrating the training and development program, how long it takes to implement, who it will benefit, to whom it will be offered, as well as what management problems or issues it will help solve or improve.
You must identified at least five problems or issues from your chosen field and find adequate training and development programs to help resolve them.
This project is worth 100 points for the written assignment and the presentation (Max. 10 min.). If the paper is not received on time, it will be penalized one letter grade for each day it is not received. If the paper has not been submitted after three days, then a grade of ZERO will be given. Please format the written assignment as follows: a cover page, 1” margins, single-spaced, Arial, 12 point font. The length of the paper should incorporate at minimum 5 pages, one problem or issue per page, must be your work (no copying and pasting), and be well written.
