In what ways does Jesus fulfill the symbolism underlying the Feast of Tabernacles? The Feast of Tabernacles is an annual Jewish festival where the Israelites met in celebration of God’s abundance after a harvest. As such, we can connect this with the presence of Jesus at the Feast of Tabernacles to celebrate God’s blessing of giving HIS only son (Mongold, 2013). The feast lasted 8 days and on the last day, the priest would take some water from the Siloam pool and then pour it on the altar. This symbolized Jesus’ word in the Gospel of John saying that ‘If any of you is thirsty, let him come to me and drink’ (John 7)...
