Cloud Computing vs. Cloud Storage

The storage of data has been a central focus of this course. However, some cloud providers, such as Google, have different offerings besides the simple storage of data. The Google Drive offers concurrent access to Google Apps in the form of a word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation software. These programs provide the ability to not only store files, but to create them remotely for anytime anywhere access. The SkyDrive/Microsoft Office combination is a similar cloud computing option.

So, what is the difference between cloud storage and cloud computing? In a sentence, it means that the provider is actually manipulating data based on your input. Such data is often in the form of database manipulation. Your assignment is to investigate the following providers and submit a short one paragraph summary of what each of them do, in your own words. As always, please provide references for your remarks.

Cloud computing   “Cloud Computing vs. Cloud Storage”: At the point when PCs first went onto the scene, they are "standalone boxes" that were detached from most different PCs. Every PC had programming and equipment that were particular to every PC. At the end of the day, everything that was purchased with the PC was just utilized with by that specific PC. After some time, things changed significantly. The principal thing that happened was systems were made for connection singular PCs together. As more PCs were connected together, the web got to be standard. A man on one PC in England could all of a sudden converse with somebody in "the United States". Today, PCs that are connected together can do a great deal more. Organized PCs now days can not just stream music and video over the system and an entire host of different things, they can really share their equipment and programming. This is the place distributed computing and distributed storage become possibly the most important factor. "Cloud storage" makes sharing equipment one stride further. A PC in a remote area can coordinate with a PC anyplace on the planet so they can share and store data over the system. A great approach to think about this idea is through the utilization of hard drives. At first, the PCs could just store data all alone hard drives. With distributed storage, PC A can store its data on system B over the system. There are a couple motivations to utilize cloud storage. A few individuals need extra storage room in light of the fact that their nearby hard drive is out of storage room, while other individuals need an excess or duplicate of their neighborhood framework in a protected area. "Cloud computing" makes even "cloud storage" one stride further. Not just can "cloud computing" store data over a system on another PC, however, it involves really sharing programming over a system as an administration. At the end of the day, programming does not need to be put away on their nearby machine. For instance, say system client C needs to compose a report utilizing "Microsoft Word", yet it is not introduced on their nearby PC. With distributed computing, the PC client could buy that "Microsoft Word administration" from another PC on their system. T...
